Some of the questions to be answered in the upcoming season: Who will Andy end up with? Will Fang Shengmei finally be happy? Will Qu Xiaoxiao and Zhao Qiping end uptogether? Will Qiu Yingying and Yi Qing be in a relationship? One thing is sure: these questions will be answered in season 2! Here are the gifs of the last few scenes:

Qu Xiaoxiao and Zhao Qiping will be in an on and off relationship and ultimately engaged. Guan Qu Er will experience an unsuccessful love story. (Sadly), her character will be antagonized and she is the reason behind QXX and ZQP’s multiple break ups. Fang Shengmei and Wang Baichuan does not end together and she is courted by a successful lawyer named Mr. Cao. Qiu Yingying gets married. Unluckily, her husband has a lover who will cause her troubles. And to end on a high note, Andy and Bao Yifan end together and get married. Out of the five girls, only three will find true happiness.

I don’t like that not everyone gets a happy ending, some life partners will change compared to this season and that other characters will be antagonists. 😦 With such a mehh future, I would rather then don’t do a season 2 then. But again, I am never a fan of second season so I may be biased.

Heuille! I am pretty pumped up about season 2 8DD…. Yep, from the book summary, the second season is definitely going to be very dark. I like it, I think the author is good at making plot twists interesting. The only issue is I really like Guan Guan and I don’t want her to turn bad 😦

I really enjoyed this series! But, do you know who Qiu Ying Ying married?? Yi Qing? I can’t imagine him having a secret lover… Also, I feel sad that Fang Shengmei and Wang Baichuan do not end together.. what happened?? But, yay for Andy!

One of the issues could be their financial situation, but I will wait for the drama to show us. :”D Hope Andy finds a happy ending, she definitely deserves it!!

Noooo I was hoping Guan Guan would have a good ending 😦 I hope they develop her character more in Season 2. And Wang Bai Chuan doesn’t go with Fan Sheng Mei! Whyyyy! They were meant to be 😥
But then again this makes the story resonate with us viewers more so still pretty excited. The one year wait is too long…

I recently saw an interview of Ode of Joy and the actress of Guan Guan is hoping for a happy ending… so there is still hope? :)) I am sad for WBC too 😦

I love it too. People say there is a season 3 but it comes out in December of 2019. I’m still confused though, does andy marry Bao yi fan in season 2?

Poor Mr. Wei. I was hoping he and Andy would end up together. 😟 oh well Mr Bao is gorgeous so I guess he would be a good substitute. Qui Ying Ying is the cutest person on that show. She is like a little puppy. She makes me smile everytime I see her. I can’t believe her husband is a cheater. He really doesn’t look like the type. Xing Xing and the doctor are one of the couples that I really don’t think make a good match. She needs to grow up. Looking forward to the second season though. 😃

I heard Wei Wei is a better character in the books so the c-novel fans wanted them to be together too ^^. Agree, QU Xiaoxiao and the doctor are both great actors full of colors, but their characters are off together 😦

I feel like QQ and YY are the punching bags of this drama, both of them get the least amount of attention and always the short end of the stick. I was hoping season 2 would give them a bit more luck but it looks like things only get worst.
The sad thing is I think the two of them are the most normal of the bunch, they don’t have Andy’s prickly demeanor and mental barrier, Sheng Mei’s emotional baggage or XX’s self entitled attitude. I watched the show and really liked the characters because they worked out well as a group but past the half way mark I started to feel sorry for QQ and YY because of their limited storyline and being sidelined as characters. This isn’t a story about 5 girls, it’s a story of 3.
In all honesty if it was not for the acting powerhouse of the actresses I would have found both Andy and Sheng Mei too heavy as characters.
My least favorite character has to be XX, she is the luckiest of the bunch but she’s not happy with her lot and wants more. I didn’t like her lording it over the other characters. I still hope for her happiness simply because I don’t really want any of them to be unhappy, they are all good girls.

You are definitely not the only one who thinks like this. There are some discussion online about Ode to Joy, with many people thinking the story over glorifies the rich and higher class of the Chinese society (the value of money, etc). And indeed, the characters of QQ and YY are very 2 dimensions and this prevented me from enjoying their scenes. At least, we can sense a character development for season 2? 😛 However, I highly enjoyed the characters of Feng Shengmei and Andy, and after watching many Chinese dramas… I won’t say these two characters are that irrealistic. They are both interesting and has their flaws. Not the next door type of character, but they make great protagonists.
Totally agree about XX, there are a lot of things she did I totally disapprove. However, just because she speaks up her mind, is resourceful and rich… everyone should forgive her?
Anyway, I also grew attached to these characters… hope for a bright future for them 🙂

I read the comments you mentioned and I can understand what they are saying. I actually read reviews before watching the drama so I was prepared for everything. That’s probably why I did not find QQ annoying, simply because I knew it was coming and recognize her character so well in people I know. QQ and GG were my favorite of the 5 girls because I felt they were the closest to reality.
In a drama that supposedly depicts everyday life we are given some characters that I feel are too far removed from reality. Out of the 3 main girls, Andy is the most unrealistic. While people like FSM and XX do exist in real life, I doubt if there really is an Andy in this world.
While I do agree with the whole domineering males and fastidious attitude this drama so slyly conveys, I think at the end of the day, it was still a possitive message of sisterhood and being there for one another.
It also helps that I find all the girls relationship with one another very endering. I loved how even though QQ is the least bright of the bunch she at different points provide an emotional haven to each girl. Or how though XX is devious and calculating she’s really just all talk and at the end of the day would be easily swayed by the plight of others.

K this might be biased cuse of me watching “when the snail falls in love” but I still gotta write this down cuse of the lack of comments supporting XX .. I am happy with news of XX ending up with Dr. Zho in the second season .. I get why people dislike her and I personally wouldn’t want her as a friend in real life.. but you gotta admit that her character makes the drama more enjoyable. . Plus I think out of all the five girls she is the only one who got guts to say the ugly truth.. her problem is her method of delivering of that truth which sucks in a great way to the point that it looks like she is playing with the other girls And looking down on them.. which is not cuse we see her helping the other girls when they really need her.. so she cares.. if she really looks down on them and see them as her source of entertainment then why would she go through the trouble to help them or spend time eating together with them?? Soo XX and Dr. Zho all the way!! They have perfect chemi and deserve each other.. don’t hate on her too much >_<

I love when a snail falls in love and decided to watch ode to joy 1 but there’s a lack of scenes and romance between qiu qiu and dr zhao:((( i cant wait to see qiu qiu bringing him to see her parents ^^ and looking at the spoilers, im starting to fear that i may come to hate guan guan for sowing discord (if she really does, oh no).
