… Yes, an early release of the Entertainment Update 🙂 Because there is too much information. ^^
Wondering which dramas and celebrities came on top of the rankings this week? With the finale episode coming up, The Interpreters receives the most viewers on television, followed by To Be a Better Man. On Weibo, the three dramas creating the most hype are To Be a Better Man, Yu Zui and With You. Finally, the most popular actor is Lay, followed by Yang Mi, Chen Xuedong, Zhang Yishan and Huang Xun.
As of June 22nd, Kris Wu officially requested a lawsuit against Xiao G Na for defamation of character for 220 thousand RMB. This probably means the two knows each other; otherwise, the lawsuit would have been for “false claim” (what is the legal term for this?). If you are curious about what is happening with this whole situation, @Lia posted in the comment section a lot of information. High likely, the girl knows Kris and tried to use him to debut as a celebrity (:”D I will not comment on this).
New drama The Fated General will start filming in July 2016. It will star Zhang Ruoyun and Ji Changwook. Sounds like Ji Changwook wants to stay in China a bit longer…
New pictures of Kris Wu and Han Geng for Sweet Sixteen
Cast of Ice Fantasy together 😀 I have a draft article for this drama, I promise I will release it soon 😀
Cute picture from Just One Smile Is Very Alluring drama version starring Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang.

New movie Remain Silence with Zhou Xun, Wu Zhenyu, and Zu Feng.
Trailer for drama Decoded which is currently airing on Hunan TV.
New drama 卧底归来 Undercover we never talked about has a pretty epic trailer full of action. Reminds me of Yu Zui ^^
MV for drama Edge to Happiness with William Chan, Ma Tianyu and Deng Jiajia.
You may want to check out this new webdrama, The Hear of the Beautiful Bones starring Ye Zitang and Huang Peng.

Cute pictures of Angelababy and Huang Xiaoming 🙂
I was like… are we Saturday yet?! But agree, this entertainment update is so ready to be released! First of all, now that To Be A Better Man, Les Interpretes and Yu Zui ended, I wonder who will be more popular in dramaland. Unless everyone decides to wait for Ice Fantasy/Zhu Xian this July. Sweet Sixteen is such a dark drama compared to the stills… I want to check out That Crazy Little Thing. Finally, Huang Xiaoming+ABB is such a strong visual couple *__*

An article I recently read claims that last year, China’s movie market surged 49% to reach $6.78 billion, while the North American market grew around 8% to $11.1 billion. At this rate, you may have to post Entertainment Updates every day. haha!
“I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Keep track of the visions in my eyes”
…but really, it’s to look cool.

Omg, I can’t believe you remembered all these numbers 0.0 Seriously impressed. Yes, I read that article too… it was released around the first weeks of Mermaid? Scary… I can definitely see the Chinese movie market expand even more. Please no entertainment update everyday :”D *sweating*
Haha, you are referring to HXM right? I didn’t realize at all… omg, I facepalm at these people

Haha, I am part of the general public.. >< All the dramas I want to watch are going to be released in at least two weeks :"(
Sweet Sixteen's stills is kind of "what happens in the wood stays in the wood" scenario. I hope the story isn't as horrible as I think it will be
Such a pretty couple ^^

No no, I just searched for the article and then copied and pasted the numbers. If I had to remember that kind of stuff, I wouldn’t have enough room in my memory box (brain) to remember all that has happened in my favourite dramas.

XD I see… Yes, very impressive data .-.

A touch off topic here but Sweet Sixteen is supposed to bea dark drama? The stills make it look like a cute romance.

Yes it is, you can check the trailer and judge for yourself xD I think the title is very misleading.

If I remember correctly, the main character, portrayed by Kris Wu, saw his parents die and couldn’t move from the hidden spot for hours. As he grew older, he develops feelings for the caring older Lu Shan whom he sees as a “mother”. She already has a boyfriend, Hangeng but one evening is raped by a stranger. Kris decides to revenge her. :”D It is so dark… right?

Kris sued for defamation and slander not invasion of privacy, please correct it.

They probably do know each other but I doubt they are dating because that slut has a boyfriend around the same time she claimed to date Kris and she deleted all the pictures of her boyfriend from her social media ever since she pulled this stunt. Why would she delete pictures of her real boyfriend if she’s innocent?
And last but not least, she released Professional pictures yesterday from a photo shoot she done in May when she was supposedly “heartbroken”. Don’t you think that’s some sort of ulterior motive already?
So yes I hope Kris wins this lawsuit because all this girl wanted was her 15 seconds of fame. I mean if you’re someone’s ex….why are you trying so hard to prove it?

Heyyyyy >< sorry I didnt see your message sooner… I will add it to the article asap. The girl probably did something wrong and pissed Kris (why sue her when the whole thing is cooling down?). Kris has every right to sue and I hope G Na does not gain anything from this whole affair.
P.s. I wasn't able to find the correct translation of the legal terms and was hoping someone in the comment sections can correct me, so thanks!

This is from a Hunan TV writer. He is suing for defamation of character NOT invasion of privacy. Please read the court document properly and change your article because it is a mistake

Thanks… I didn’t know the legal term and thought they would mean the same! I appreciate the dedication 🙂

Is Ji Chang Wook really going to be in The Fated General/General of the Flying Cavalry? I saw posts on Weibo naming other cast members besides title role being played by Zhang Ruoyun i.e. Alan Yu, Victor Huang…and guest stars like Wu Xiao Bo, Hu Jun, Yang Shuo. Filming to start July 25. Drama team supposedly made up of those who worked on dramas such as Black Fox, Snow Leopard, Nirvana in Fire, Disguiser, Legend of Chu & Han, New Three Kingdoms, Ni Shui Han, Ode to Joy

Hi there! I read the same information as you, but only registered in my brain that the leads are Zhang Ruoyun and Ji Changwook. From my source, Changwook is starring as lead, but I mean, until we get to July 25th, we cannot know for sure who will stay in the final line-up 😛 Apparently it is supposed to be a big budget drama, but I will wait to see the stills to judge. 😛 If they are hiring the team behind Nirvana in Fire and the Three Kingdoms, then it will probably be a hit! :O

According to weibo posts (from all the way back in March when Zhang Ruoyun’s name became attached to the drama and now), producer/director is 张健 (Black Fox, Snow Leopard, New Snow Leopard), screenwriter is 温豪杰 (The Ordinary World, Ni Shui Han, New Water Margin), director of photography 郭增友 (Nirvana in Fire, Family on the Go, Battle of Changsa), art director 王贻涛 (New Shanghai Bund, New Three Kingdoms, Legend of Chu & Han), costumes 茹美琪 (Nirvana in Fire, The Disguiser, The Ordinary World), lighting direction 孙红良 (Nirvana in Fire, Family on the Go, Battle of Changsa)…
Another weibo post lists Zhang Ruoyun as Huo Qubing , Li Nian as Wei Zifu, Wu Xiubo as 赵严, Hu Jun as 大单于, Pan Taiming as Wei Qing, 钟雷 as Ichise Chanyu, Alan Yu as Li Gan.

Wow, thanks for so much information @_@ Art and visual wise, itsounds like it will be a treat! Maybe Chang Jiwook was added last minute then? Or maybe my source got it wrong this time… Pretty cool cast so far, but most people I am unfamiliar with. I will wait for the trailers to judge

from watching several of producer/director 张健’s projects (namely Black Fox, Snow Leopard, New Snow Leopard–all war dramas), should Ji Chang Wook be casted in this drama, he will certainly need to be speaking Chinese and not Korean when doing his dialogue because in the dramas I mentioned when a Chinese actor portrayed a Japanese who spoke Japanese, the actor/actress had to speak in Japanese. They still dub over his/her voice with someone who is more fluent in Japanese, but at least the lip movements match the voice. I believe the majority of the veteran actors I listed in the post below, as well as Zhang Ruoyun, at one point or another have worked with the director/producer on a previous drama project.

It would be indeed a shame if a Korean actor who doesn’t fit the story was casted just because of the “Hallyu” wave. Also, as a Korean actor, why film so many dramas at once? If I was a producer, I would wait for some of his projects to get released before casting him too. Hope he doesn’t mess up this adaptation then!

Doesn’t look like the drama has started filming yet; they’re still building the set from weibo pics. However, they’ve confirmed/reconfirmed several cast members: Li Hongyi as Zhao Ponu, Yang Shuo as 郝命, Victor Huang Weide as Emperor Wu of Han, Pan Taiming as Wei Qing. Not sure if I’m understanding one of the posts, but drama team is apparently releasing the names of the cast members hidden in poem?

Oh really? I am too lazy to guess that so I will just wait for the character stills to be released to really know who will star in it xD Thanks for the information!

Not sure how accurate this info is, but something might happen on 8/22/16. Other cast members include 白宇 and 徐悦 (based on weibo posts). Baidu has 李一桐 as 卫长公主 and
刘天尧 as 要东.
Director/Producer 张健 on weibo mentioned that the cost of construction of a single scene is 10亿?

might want to take a look at these 2 weibo posts, 1 is like a schedule related to the drama for 8/21-8/23, the other has a list of many of the cast (looks like at least 1 change in actress for a role)

I’m following every project that gets my attention from your blog through the fabulous Baidu and Manmankan. God bless Google Translator.
I’d like to know the name in Chinese for the web drama Hear of the Beautiful Bones.
No matter how much hard I try, my brain refuses to learn to read Mandarin. Oh well, at least I can understand some 20 spoken words. *facepalm*

Haha ^^ Are you Chinese? I do the same, every time I write an article, I go on Google Translate 😛 For that drama, the Chinese words should be Bai Gu Mei Ren Xin 白骨美人心。
I should also learn some Chinese… sad to be so lazy :”D

Thanks again!
I’m not Chinese neither do I have some DNA from there.
I’m just another lover of good dramas from that part of the world.
My brain most probably believe knowing the languages I already know (two more besides my native language and English is one of them) are enough. *sad face*

I see 😛 Maybe, one day we will learn Chinese. Yes, it is already amazing to be fluent in two languages 🙂

Short from going back to Chinese school or Google translating half the article, does anyone know of any names being attached to the Renny Harlin directed movie, 古剑奇谭??
LikeLike
WOW, I didn’t even know there would be a movie version of Ancient Swords! It is the same story and will also star Li Yifeng, Yang Mi, Qiao Zhengyu, Ma Tianyu, William Chan, Zhang Meng and Zheng Shuang. Hayden Guo will play the role Gillian Chung played, Xun Fang. I am not sure if they will just adapt from the 2014 drama or they will shoot something new… They apparently started the shooting in March, but I honestly had no idea. It should be released for 2017. Also, no idea if Renny Harlin is attached to this project…

I also have an email account (intellectualkittenspot@gmail.com) that I use every other month :”D. If you send something there, I will be able to reply but it may takes a long time!
Thank you for the kind words. I am busy with stuffs outside of blogging so I don’t know how much update we can handle, but your opinion is welcomed :))

There are good projects planning to come out.
It’s a pity that Chinese dramas do not have absolute certain release dates to go on air.
I’m in love with the series “Undercover”. The trailer is absolutely amazing! I’ll stalk this drama from now on.

Totally agree. I love anticipating for dramas and then watch them as they air, so I try to follow the release schedule. It is a shame it rarily corresponds to the final release date (especially this summer)…
Undercover looks so fun! Sadly I know no one acting in it so I will wait for it to get trending online before checking it out for myself ^^
