[Short Storyline Recap] The Mystic Nine Ep. 33-36

There are two kisses this week.. Thie one and an even better one at the end of the post!! Click bait much? 8D

Episode 33

Finally, Fo Ye wakes up, but his mental state is like a vegetable.

In flashbacks, we see the story of the Zhang Family. After being persecuted by Japanese people and seen with his own eyes the death of his father, young Fo Ye and other people were captured as labor slave. Young Fo Ye remembers his father’s word to go to Changsha and tries to escape. It is by hiding in a tomb for three days and nights that he successfully escaped from the Japanese troops.

Our little group talks about Fo Ye’s illness and decides the best solution would be to bring Fo Ye back to his hometown (in Dongbei), where his memory will find peace and may wake him back up.

Fo Ye and Ba Ye waits for Xinyue at the restaurant. There, Xinyue arrives worried to see Fo Ye’s state.

Lieutenant goes to find Bei Le Ye (the rich relative of the emperor they met at Xinyue’s hotel back in episode 13).

In the meantime, Ms.Huo is sending her men in the tomb to explore and hence, loses a many of her people. Captain Lu reveals to Chen Pi that he knows Ms.Huo is hiding things from them and that is why he lets her start the search: to make her lose personnel.

In Dongbei, Bei Le Ye helps the little group by finding information about the Zhang Family. There, Fo Ye seems to have a few reaction to the ambiance, which is a good sign. They finally find where the house is, but are being followed by Japanese people hiding in the neighborhood. They risk it all by charging into the Zhang house. The Japanese people follow too, but they end up being killed by mysterious bombs around the house.

Also, Lieutenant reveals that he is also a Zhang family member, which shocks Ba Ye. Haha, the bromance between them ^^

Episode 34

Inside, they see the poor and scary state of the house.

They see a monument which means that to save one person, another one must die. They understand that this may be related to saving Fo Ye. After a second of thought, Xinyue jumps into the structure while Lieutenant and Ba Ye tries to stop her.

The door closes on her, but after a few seconds, she comes out looking all good. Seems like it was all an hallucination! A few second later, Fo Ye finally wakes up looking fine. Did Xinyue’s brave action heal him? Maybe! Just so you know and as other mentionned, it seems that the editors of the drama cut the healing process from the episode. 

As Esc and Sharon mentioned in the comment section of the previous post, a LOT of scenes were cut in the aired episode. Sharon translated the following conversation from weibo:

“After entering the coffin, YX see her evil heart/nightmare, FY who is body-bloody made her pain that doesn’t want to live. But suddenly the bracelet ring out was recalled her spirit, based on FY’s engagement object which help her to escape from a certain death.

Outside, Ba Ye and Zhang Deputy help FY to the coffin number 83 then stop. Open the lid of the coffin, one person found identical like FY, rosy countenance but no breath, compared to outsider clearly breathing but with white face. Put the two together, Zhang Deputy use a knife to cut hands of the two to do the blood transfusion. Zhang said that because of Zhang Family special artery, through the blood transfusion can restore the spirit, overcome the ghost heart. When the blood stops flowing, FY wounds recovery with rosy countenance, other “FY” splinter and disappear

At the same time, YX walked out of the coffin with the thought ” I believe he’ll wake up” . FY awake and chase everyone this place should not stay long, quickly go . On the way, YX was bowed with serious countenance and unhappy.

FY: Rarely seen you that taciturn
YX: you thought I could not invasive with hundred potion? sometimes I would have unhappy moment.
FY: Now I’m fine alread, what make you still not happy? Let’s create good memories to replace for the unhappy one.
YX eyes were shining brilliantly, wicked smile looked at YF: This is what you said
While FY is still skeptical, YX suddenly kiss him.
FY was shock with eyes widened, he blink.
YX just touch his lips slightly and quickly leave.
YX look shy with flushed cheeks, lip biting with mischievous smile.
FY touch his lips and stare at YX
YX: I’m familiar with your aggression cold face always against to me, as well as familiar to look you when in military uniform, your face always looks like an old man, even doesn’t care about the live to enter the coffin, into the battle, but whatever you want to do, I will always pray at your side and keep awaiting for you.
YX look at non-demonstration of FY, her heart was lost.
YX: Aiya, anyway we kiss already, you are mime, let’s get married, ok?
YX widen her eyes and expect to look at FY
FY: I used to see the death from childhood, this life I don’t intend to implicate other, live or die doesn’t mind to face alone…
YX: I don’t want to listen, do not talk anymore …
YX suddenly cover his mouth, she look at FY with tears in her eyes.
YX: I don’t want to hear you refuse me again, you ejected me many times already …
TN slowly let go, turned around and wanted to leave.
immediately FY hold her back by one hand, embraced her tightly and was hegemony to kiss her

Then go to the scene of the talking, that’s why the almost kissing looks so natural, doesn’t look like their first kiss.”

So yeah, above was the cutted scene ^^ So, now, our little group is outside since Fo Ye urged them to leave as soon as he wakes up.

Everyone is so happy that Fo Ye is fine. Fo Ye says he finally remembers why his father wanted him to move to Changsha. The family secret is hidden in the tom and it is Fo Ye’s responsibility to protect it.

Ba Ye asks him how come there were bomb close to the Zhang household and how come they passed fine. They finally understands that it is because the house recognize the people entering and only lets the Zhang people enter. Xinyue and Fo Ye looks at each cutely and Fo Ye reach for a kiss on Xinyue’s lips.

Ba Ye stops them in disbelief (people, this was one of the most annoying moments of Ba Ye). Fo Ye stops and has a big smile on his face. They all leave together to go back to Changsha.

Bad White/Japanese person goes to talk with Chen Pi. He hints that what is hiding in the tomb is a magical object that can ressurect Ya Tou. Hearing this, Chen Pi wants to go in the tomb even more.

Fo Ye and Ba Ye goes to see Jiu Ye to discuss. Knowing that Chen Pi is Er Ye’s disciple and hence a dangerous enemy, Fo Ye decides that he must go back in the tomb again. However, with Captain Lu’s men in front of the door, this is an impossible mission. He hence calls out Bei Le Ye once again.

Er Ye feels better and decides to come too. But before, he has an hallucination of Ya Tou.

Bei Le Ye is very enthusiastic to come help out Fo Ye and wants to have a room next to him so they can come see each other more.. :’D Ok.. Anyway, Fo Ye explains him that he needs Bei Le Ye to act as an ally of Captain Lu.

Bei Le Ye opens a new hotel/building in Changsha and invites all the important people to attend. But he doesn’t let either the people of Chen Pi nor Ms.Huo enter; hence these two will have to come see him themselves. Later, he sends another invitation to Captain Lu to come eat at the hotel.

Episode 35

At the restaurant, Bei Le Ye does a whole show. Starting from a huge entrance with people cheering for him in the street to having his own “emperor” seat, he complains about the food and wine and offers way better alternatives. His efforts win over Captain Lu while he gives the cold shoulder to Chen Pi and Ms.Huo. They talk together and decide to ally: both sides send men to explore the tomb and they share the treasures together. Our team of bad guys are still suspicious of him though.

Xinyue is back at home preparing her luggage as she wants to follow Fo Ye to his trip (somewhere, but not the tomb I think..) and think of bringing perfume. Suddenly, she hears someone coming in and is ready to hit! But happily sees that it is Fo Ye. After making sure he wasn’t tracked by anyone for coming back home, she complains to him that she is SO bored alone at home and how can he only come visit her now. She also tries to convince him to let her go with him (somewhere.. :’D I didn’t understand where), first saying it is for Er Ye, but then says it is really because she is worried for him. He first says that it is way too dangerous for her. She says that she doesn’t care and keeps arguing with him until he lets her. ❤

At the day of the exploring, Er Ye, Fo Ye and Lieutenant arrive together disguised as workers for Bei Le Ye. Chen Pi and Captain Lu notices, but decide to say nothing since they know very well that they are the only one who can successfully search the tomb. Er Ye, Fo Ye, Lieutenant, Ba Ye, Chen Pi and other side characters go inside the tomb.

Episode 36

Inside, our little group successfully evades from Chen Pi’s eyes and start searching around.

As they have experience, they find their way a lot easier this time and arrives in front of a big tombstone and Ba Ye starts kneeling in front of it. It is apparently the tomb of a legendary person.

They keep walking and sees that there is a dangerous suspended platform on the other side and decides to cross it. It is a dangerous path and once they get on the other side, they see a big rock. This rock is apparently what the Japanese people are looking for to do experiment in China. They see an entrance inside the rock and enter to arrive to a parallel world. Meanwhile, Chen Pi’s team is walking behind them.

Arrived at a dead end, Fo Ye realizes that the sculpture on the floor looks like the tattoo he has. He cuts his hand and let the blood fall on the ground… a tomb appears! It is the one of the legendary person (from the tombstone seen before). There, they find a mysterious map as well as writings on the rock. On the rock, it says that “Dead people can be revived”. Seeing this, Er Ye starts running out thinking that Ya Tou must be around. The episode ends with everyone searching for Er Ye and Chen Pi close behind…

Preview

Living in some hallucination, Er Ye decides to stay behind and stay with Ya Tou. There him and Chen Pi has a confrontation as they both want Ya Tou by their own side. Finally, everyone leaves the tomb safe and apparently, Ya Tou too.

While talking with Fo Ye about Ya Tou, Xinyue proposes to Fo Ye. As Fo Ye starts talking about how dangerous his life style is, Xinyue decides to leave as she doesn’t want to hear his dialogue anymore. Fo Ye grabs her wrist and kisses her.
