[Admin] The End of Cdramadevotee

40ab4f4cgw1f7k94oo06cg20b4069qv9

We mentioned this a few times in the comment section so this should not come out as such a surprise anymore. The increasing number of posts during the last few weeks was also an indication of our decision… Today, we have the sad, but important responsibility to announce that we are ending blogging on Cdramadevotee as of September 6th, 2016.

Why We Are Leaving

Archidisign: School is starting soon. I took a REALLY busy schedule and the past week was already hard to get through. It will be a crazy semester and I sadly do not see how blogging will can find time in it. Furthermore, I believe that in the last one year and a half, we have already covered most subjects we wanted to cover. I think  I have mentioned at least once each of the dramas I wanted to highlight on the blog which makes me extremely happy and satisfied.

Intellectualkitten: When September hits, I will be taking up new challenges and new experiences. I would be putting more of my time on school, on my studies, and also on different other opportunities along the way. Just for the time being, I hope to distance myself from cdramas and cmovies and concentrate on other things.

The Efforts Needed to Maintain a Blog

Blogging is personal so everyone’s commitment will vary as well. Realistically speaking, it would be impossible for us to continue maintaining this blog. If you are familiar with our work, you know we post a LOT. Because checking sina and weibo on a daily basis is not something you can take moderately: it requires constant commitment. And that commitment can range from one to two hours a day just to track all the news.

Grateful for Your Love

Intellectualkitten: It is sad to leave like this because Cdramadevotee has created a small community of people who love dramas. People that I love. There was a lot of things that could have gone wrong but this blog always kept its positive synergy. I learnt a lot by talking to everyone in the comment section, so really… it is a great experience 😀

Archidisign: I totally loved the whole blogging experience and it is all thanks to the interaction I had with everyone. I think that for any website, it is the feedback and the feeling of accomplishing something for the community that makes the desire to keep going. I want to thank everyone for participating so actively on our blog, even if we may sound silly and full of mistakes (obviously typos!) from time to time.

Here, I want to thanks the people who came on the blog since our first one (aiyusoxin, visonofjm, CapriquariusMei, Jo, dramarian, Kate, Ann) as well as my very special The Mystic Nine recapping team (Lizzie, maoh, Pooh, Jo, Sharon, dwi, Hannah, etc). There are also Ezr, Creidesca, xingfenzhen, etc who brought on valuable and new information that we missed out. I feel like naming even more people and it just feels amazing we had the chance to interact with so many people!! Everyone is so amazing and supportive. ❤ :’)

Future Plan

Archidisign: I will keep reading/commenting blog posts and entertainment news on the Internet. I will also keep watching dramas and stay addicted to the beautiful Zhao Liying. But instead of creating new content, I will be a watcher from now on. I may pop on the blog again for random posts worth writing about, but I will definitely not be active as I am right now. However, don’t worry, I will definitely finish the recapping of all the episodes of The Mystic Nine. I may not be as fast as I am now, but it will be done properly ^^

Intellectualkitten: I am considering opening a personal blog in the future, not affiliated to this account nor related to Chinese entertainment. Blogging is fun and I still have so much to say! I will keep watching Chinese movies and follow all my favourites (Liu Yifei, Deng Chao, Bai Baihe, Liu Shishi, etc) as they come up with new projects. And I promise, I will come back if I bump into a really good project to share with everyone! Thank you all for telling me to watch Nirvana in Fire, The Disguiser, etc… you guys made my summer so much more awesome.

Navigate through our blog

Cdramadevotee is also a platform for us to share all kind of information and through its existence, we made some articles worth keeping. Please go check our Site Index here for all the links of these topics. Especially, maybe these posts can keep being great references? ^^

Other resources online

We prepared a page of our favorite resources and blogs for Chinese entertainment news. Go check them out! You can also create your own blog to make the cdrama online community even stronger!

If you are somehow literate in Mandarin, I suggest creating a weibo account to follow Chinese entertainment. A good start would be to follow Sina Entertainment, Sina Movie, and Sina TV.

[Edit by Ikitten] So many warm messages! I will save some to reply tomorrow or I will cry out for real ><… You guys are all wishing us luck for the future and I am sincerely grateful for it. I also want to wish you guys a bright future. I consider you all as my friends and I always wish the best to people I care about. Good night!

[Edit by Archidisign] OMG you girls are so sweeet!!! ❤ ❤ Thanks for being so understanding and supportive. All these amazing messages here are blowing my mind. :’D There is no way I can answer all the comments in one seating, but I will do so little by little. You girls (do we have even one guy? xD) mean so much for me and I feel like we are a big family! Hope the best for everyone!!

Hello you two! Thank you for taking the time to write a beautiful farewell considering school has already started!

I first found your blog when I was looking for comments on Best Get Going and been a fan ever since – it’s informative, welcoming and passionate! All the right ingredients for a successful blog 🙂

You both are clearly dedicated people to your cause (scouring Sina and Weibo daily takes time! As well as responding to each comment!) and your non judgemental, friendly responses are placatory and promotes the warm vibe this blog is known for. I am confident that you will both be successful in whatever you put your mind to do, be it in your studies, future career or other undertakings.

@intellectual kitten thanks for recommending My Little Princess and your earlier posts on variety shows – I was never a fan but have now started to watch some selected ones where he guest stars fit my fancy 🙂

@archidisgn – what can I say my fellow ZLY fangirl ? 🙂 thank you for your speedy and heartfelt recaps – your blog has definitely provided a forum for like minded people to congregate and exchange thoughts and comments! I wish that just like XY, you will remain brave, passionate (I know you are already smart :)) and you will achieve anything you want (the appropriate FY included :))

Good luck you two! And thank you again – this blog has definitely been a boon to me, someone who can understand spoken Mandarin but not completely Mandarin literate in keeping abreast and navigating that weird wonderful world of c-drama land!

Thank you for such a wonderful blog! Your efforts in creating and maintaining this blog will forever be appreciated by this fan. I can only imagine how much of your time and energy went into producing each post, especially the Entertainment Updates. As a someone who got into Cdramas this year, this blog really helped me to understand them, post by post, comment by comment.

Good luck in all you do! I’m sure that success will be yours, considering the devotion and passion that you’ve displayed in the past year and a half.

    —————————————————————-

    Dear archidisign and intellectualkitten,

I started following cdrama religiously around July last year, as an escape from anxiety and depression. I found your first blog on cdramadevotee.com – maybe it was something to do with “Dad, where are we going” because I needed to read something that would validate my crush on Kang Kang lol. https://cdramadevotee.com/2015/08/09/one-word-to-describe-dad-where-are-you-going-3-heartwarming/ Or maybe it was because I needed more of the Yang Yang-Chen Yihan bromance in “Divas hit the Road”. I don’t remember when I first started reading but for the next 12 months, I would read every article and soon enough, I found myself falling deeper down the rabbit hole. I would read your articles from pre-July 2015 on the days that you weren’t posting, and then reread my favourite articles time and time again. As the weeks went on, I realised I became more excited about the contents of your posts and had the urge to comment and share my opinions.

Eventually, I created a wordpress account purely because of you two. It was easier keeping up to date with comment replies. In time, I wanted to show you my future blog posts on dramalamb.wordpress.com. when I get the blog fully up and running. I wanted to be your pride and joy, ni men de jiao ao 你们的骄傲 ! Do you see the similarity in design and layout? I learn from the best! Shi Fu! I cannot bear to let you go! 徒儿舍不得让你们走 😥

Cdrama made me appreciate being Chinese. In the past, I used to be ashamed and embarrassed about my ethnicity; if my parents called me on my phone and I was out in public, I would only speak in English, even if that only made the communication more difficult. I refused to speak in Mandarin. I would even speak louder, as if to announce to those around me that “HEY! I can speak English! I’m not a Chinese fob!” It is upsetting to me that old me used to think that way. Now, I am very proud to have such a rich and beautiful background. Cdrama introduced me to Chinese values, and from there, I discovered more about Chinese ideas and ways of thinking, whether that was through dramas, documentaries, news or weibo. Cdrama opened the door to quite literally, a whole new world. Of course, some things still baffle me. That school flower concept https://cdramadevotee.com/2016/04/25/feature-chinese-ulzzang-university-goddess/ still baffles me. How does such a thing exist?! I am in disbelief, and the same could be said for your news that you two are quitting. I simply don’t want to accept the truth. All my favourites are going away. “Divas hit the road”, “Dad, where are we going”, and now you guys! This feels like the breakup in dramas and movies where one half (in this case, it is you two) has to go overseas and leave behind the other (me and the hundreds of other followers) </3

In the English-speaking community, cdrama doesn’t have as much of a territory as anime does. One of my best friends frequently attends anime conventions. One year, I found myself longing for a sense of belonging, a community which shared my interests. Back then, cdrama was still foreign to me. I didn’t feel like I had a community that I could be a part of. It is different now. A month or so ago, I thought to myself that I had finally found my community. Here in cdrama. I have online friends! Not only you two but also commenters like Jo, j, tokkita, Ann, Paige – just to name a handful!

It has been a great 1.5 years. This is one of the best blogs out there. You’ve been writing up regular posts for these past almost-2 years, every month, every week. I enjoy your friendly style and how you make an attempt to respond to comments, old and new. I remember once upon a time, someone commented that you guys did “pretty well for an amateur blog” and I thought that you guys were far from “amateur”! Very well done. You two deserve a huge round of applause. In fact, I often refer my friends to your blogs, in addition to Cfensi and avirtualvoyage, though I tell them that you are my favourites. I visit these 3 blogs on a daily basis, others on a weekly basis, but yours is more like Facebook to me in that it is always open. Even if nothing comes out, I still read them. Even if you all have the same post idea especially when it comes to weddings! But I read them all. What if Hu Ge gets married after you quit?!

I agree with the comments from earlier posts that I’d miss the entertainment updates the most. It was around the time that it first started circulating that you two would quit blogging, and everyone was saying how they’d miss Ent Updates the most. https://centdevotee.wordpress.com/2016/08/19/entertainment-update-princess-weiyoung-xuan-yuan-sword-yang-mi-cosplay-the-journey-full-love/#more-7490 I was confused as to why; were you only going to do recaps and features now? Were Ent Updates too much of a hassle to compile and that’s why they were being discontinued? I understand now. Sometimes, I check @entpaparazzi on weibo (since I saw that some of your images are sourced from there) when I am craving an Ent Update but it is not the day of the week yet. The weibo updates are not as extensive as yours, and are in Chinese. I rely on your Ent Updates because I can’t read Chinese very well and cannot be bothered to use text-to-speech-translate.

I like that you never limit the comments or delete photos. Cfensi has some very old posts from 2012 or whatnot when I was searching for Wang Keda stuff but unfortunately, they often delete old pictures and because there is no source link, I cannot retrieve them myself. It was a good idea that you decided to create this second blog and not delete the images from the first blog! Avirtualvoyage has a time limit on their comments so when I find a really old post and want to share my opinion, I can’t 😥

I know you are avid Zhao Liying fans, as are the majority of the netizens here. One only has to look at the sheer number of comments on “The Mystic Nine” recaps articles to understand the adoration for Zhao Liying! I am still sitting on the fence about her; I am waiting for you to completely convert me into a Zhao Liying fan.

We have been on so many journeys together. “Cuo Dian Yuan Yang”? It was an absolute blast reading your recaps of the OTP moments! https://cdramadevotee.com/2016/02/29/recap-cuo-dian-yuan-yang-otp-scenes-episodes-1-2-3/ https://cdramadevotee.com/2016/03/01/recap-cuo-dian-yuan-yang-otp-scenes-ep-4/

And your music nostalgia playlist? https://cdramadevotee.com/2016/02/06/music-top-7-nostalgic-songs-to-be-on-your-playlist-4/ A part 2 doesn’t seem likely at this point 😥 there are so many more that we could discuss and share! It seems fitting that we play A-Yue's Goodbye right now, though I'd like to dedicate Wakin Chau's Friends to you two.

Although you say that you two are quitting, I still maintain a small sliver of hope that perhaps you will change your mind—maybe come back in a few months or maybe even a few years. Do the odd update with a feature post or review post. Maybe stick around in the blogosphere and just participate in the comments section?

If you are still reading at this point, thank you. The whole point of this is to explain to you two how precious you guys are to me. :’) As you strive for success, you will have to make sacrifices. I wish you two all the best in your future endeavours. Fighting!

    为了成功, 还是要付出代价的。 祝你们好运。 加油!

      Dear archidisign and ikitten,

Thank you again for your generosity in putting so much time and effort onto this blog!! I wish you all the best on your pursuits. I hope you will find sincere supporters in your real life too.
To blog or not to blog, on cent or anything else. It’s entirely up to you. Life well and be comfortable at whatever you do!

As for c drama.. It seems like there is some amount of overlap among websites. if we have a division of labor and divvy up the work, it wouldn’t take as much time. (Hopeful thinking?) If only we have a sign-up board, then we can get a volunteering system going so not 1 or 2 persons will end up doing a lot of the work. Let actor A’s fans blog about his series and friends, etc. I am not available until around mid-November myself though. I’m only logging onto my computer to write this goodbye note. (I’m not even checking my own emails.) But I’ll be happy to help write a few blogs sometimes. But don’t have me write blogs on actors/actresses I’m allergic to.

I am very thankful to all of you, including blog readers too! It’s not always easy to find genuine and helpful friends. (There are weeks, when it seems a lot of people who approach me in real life all want me to do all kinds of elaborate things for them.) Thank you for sharing your knowledge on authors, c dramas, etc. Hope dramalamb’s blog will be up and running soon! Dramalamb, thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience.
For everyone, 祝你们好运。 加油! (plagiarized Dramalamb above).

Thank you for supporting our decision… all these warm messages make me realize I was worried for no reason :3

I agree with your idea. And I think this is why cdramadevotee worked so well, Archidisign and myself know each other well and we can adjust our posts depending on each other. The work is divided and both can work on the same post at different time. This is an interesting idea but I am not sure if we can give cdramadevotee as the platform for it. My hope is to bring this blog to an end and encourage new c-blogs to emerge. Because Cdramadevotee has such a strong personality of Archidisign and me that a sudden change would be weird. If it is an idea you want to pursue further, I would be happy to create a post so people can discuss the possibilities ^^

I used to be a little like this too, thinking about what people can do for me instead of treating the relationship genuinely. However, it is an acquired taste and be able to give and share is so much more pleasant than to take. As we grow, we see the world as a whole, and it is a beautiful thing.

Hehe, let me copy it too: 祝你们好运。 加油!

Oops. I meant “Live well”, not “Life well”.

        I know what you mean.

I can volunteer to blog on news, or works of Bai Baihe, Zhou Xun, Ariel Lin, Hu Ge, Lu Yi. Perhaps Sun Yi, Tong Liya, Chen Xuedong, Han Dongjun, Joe Cheng too. Those who are interested can leave a message here below, if that’s ok with you. But I can’t start until mid Nov.

I love the skill-related parts of the Chinese culture. Arts, crafts (tea-making, embroidery, special regional foods, architectural design), history, etc. i was very impressed when I first saw double-sided Suzhou embroidery. Later I saw documentaries on Hunan embroidery. It looked even more impressive than the Suzhou version. I enjoy visiting some parts of China like Shanxi, Anhui, Yunnan. C custom and rituals can be a headache. Sometimes huge, sometimes minor — the size of headache, I mean. Very elaborate mourning, wedding customs can be very time-consuming. Especially if your parents come from large families scattered in various continents around the world. Some C folks are too focused on material things. Love to brag or compare a tad too much. Some people can be very overbearing and impose on others too much. But some parts of these rituals do come with beautiful Buddhist arts and other good things. Shanxi has some very beautiful Buddhist sculptures. Some can be found around Mount Wutai, some near Pingyao ancient city.
This may not work for everyone, but after I moved to the West, I decided to be as self-sufficient as I can. It turned out to be very beneficial for me. It gives you good life skills. Plus other people have their own lives, schedules and priorities. It’s best to be self-reliant. It may also bring you closer to nicer people. You never know. 😉 I hope more and more of us will be inspired to do our best. And continue to be supportive of each other.

This is a bit random, but has anyone noticed how there are a lot of ethnic Chinese ladies on Bloomberg Finance? Scarlet Fu, Betty Liu, Emily Chang. There are other Asian ladies like Sherry Ahn. There are other names I can’t recall. They all appear regularly on Bloomberg TV. They may be a lot more impressive than the leading ladies on c dramas.

This message may get buried, if that is the case, I will put out a post for people to see and talk 🙂

China has the really good, but it also has the really bad. Most of the time when I go back to visit, it is the bad I see (the hustle, the lies, the materialism). Nonetheless, I am very interested by the beautiful culture of China and really wish I can visit the places you talked about.

Thank you for this awesome tip! I try to be more self sufficient and forge a better destiny for myself… Is it part of growing up? I seriously wonder, since more and more people I know are growing this mindset.
Hmm… I don’t watch Bloomberg TV so I don’t really know. While the c-celebrities are a source of positive energy and talent, the accomplished people in more tradition field are a source of power and strength. I did a quick google search and they are indeed impressive!

About the comments on speaking with professors. I have to say I have mixed experience about that. Especially in grad school. If you read the headlines, you may read how VW has emission cheating scandals, Wells Fargo is creating fake accounts and sign up their clients on extra loans and credit cards the clients had no idea on, HSBC does money laundering for pseudo criminals, etc. Well. Not all professors are saintly either. Some are downright crooked and love to exploit talented students. This is a bigger issue in grad school when students have gotten more skilled and useful for professors. I was quite naive when I started college. I was quite blindsided by the dark issues. This problem also exists in real-life jobs. Even in STEM, art-related fields. Corporations, employers often push the envelope quite far. This becomes one of the motivations to be more self-reliant. The more you can do yourself, the less likely you’ll fall victim to greedy, self-serving financial advisor etc.

China is very fast-changing. Even my acquaintances who grew up in China half-jokingly said they needed to get tour guides when they went back home since whole neighborhoods had changed, leaving only a few landmarks.

CNBC also has some Asian female anchors, like Melissa Lee (Li?). US-based Asian female CEOs are very rare though. Pepsi is the only large firm with anything like it. But some people from India consider themselves to be Caucasians. So, that case may not “count”.

Thanks so much for the kind wishes! ❤

This sounds like a brilliant idea and it would be a dream if it could happen. I think blogs like cfensi and AVV (as well as MANY others) do recruit for new bloggers/moderators. Hopefully, someone can organize it so it works out. Because it sounds a bit similar to these Kpop sites like e.g. Allkpop, which can be hard to organize to make the system efficient. I wish we thought about this more and could help the ecosystem work better. If someone (qualified) wants to organize this, I would love to help promote the idea on the blog. I think it can actually be done on wordpress.

Thanks for being part of this amazing experience and for being one of our beloved commenter! Wish you the best too!

It was hard to read your comment and I had to take a few breaks before finishing it. You are simply too sweet! Thank you for being so genuine and giving us so much credits. You are making me realize cdramadevotee is probably one of the best projects of my life.

As a Chinese immigrant, I admit I also have conflicting feelings about China and the whole culture. But c-dramas and c-movies are a good experience, because it showed me the pretty of China and soul reaching part. During the past year, many times I was overstressed and worried about my education and my career. But at the end of the day, I would not blame cdramadevotee for taking up my time. Because it is a place where I can destress, think about something else, and share my passion. It is a place that allowed me to be a professional fangirl. When you say you suffered from depression and anxiety, I am happy to know the blog is the same kind of place for you. You make me realize some of our crappy articles were worth writing ><

If you post some articles, I would be more than happy to promote the blog for you 🙂 Hope you have a great and long journey in the cdramaland, because it has been such a great experience for me ^^ ❤ YES, I listen to a lot of C-music and I wish I posted more articles about it. I am sure we have similar taste since I also love A-Yue. Thank you for being such a great “friend” ^^

    • Dear dramalamb,

Thanks so much for your detailed and so personal comment. I was blown away when I first read it and had to read it again. I am sorry to hear you had anxiety/depression issues before, but I am also so glad to hear that dramas and entertainment was a great way to deal with it. You are bringing a whole different meaning to what we do! The fact that we write features and more opinion based posts seem to have made you one of our followers so that definitely makes me very happy. Kang Kang was a total cutie on Dad, where are we going? And so was YY+Ivy Chen’s pairing in Divas. Your love for us blows my mind, because I would have never imagined we can impact others in such a way.
Love the layout of your blog (cause it looks like ours 8D). You are our pride for sure! For me, the fact that we had this blog running and so many people commenting is a pride in itself. And to know we inspired other blogs? Even better! I see that you watched a lot of interesting dramas, a lot of them that we personally didn’t cover. I would tell you, go ahead! Talk about them! Write reviews, recaps, features, whatever interests you! Because, by experience, it is by writing posts related to current dramas that we get the most interest. Also, it is a nice achieve for yourself. ❤
Don't be ashamed for being Chinese (or dual ethnicity since it sounds like you are also an immigrant)! You have such a beautiful background and unlike what Western media is saying, not everything that comes out of China is evil. It is because they want that negative stigma against China that the country's rise was surprising and unstoppable! 😉 Haha, it is not a total breakup (hopefully) as you can have your own blog and we may still post features from time to time. Time must go on~
Yes, I also feel like it is a shame we are stopping posting since we have such a beautiful group of commenters right now 😥 But there will be better ones, I am sure of it!
The entertainment update is a long work based on MANY sources so we sadly cannot refer you to another option 😦
Awwnnn, thanks for saying we are your favorite! Before starting blogging, I followed and commented a lot (more than now) on both cfensi and AVV. They are beautiful places for c-news and it is amazing to us we are even compared to them now. Dedication makes unbelievable things happen! It is interesting you say that Cfensi and AVV have limited image and comment capacity. They also use wordpress. I love wordpress, but it has many flaws 😦
Also, please, if Hu Ge gets married, I will of course come back on the blog to write at least a few posts on it haha. Finally, WHAT? I did not convince everyone to love ZLY yet? :OOOO Joke, but at least it sounds like you enjoyed CDYY drama so I am good with that 😛
For sure I want to stay in the comment sections around (although no idea which blog I will be most active in). I am pretty packed for the rest of the year, but who knows when I will want to blog again? :'P
You are also a precious reader of us and I also wish you many success wether in blogging or real life! Stay beautiful and optimist! 😉

I guess I can talk about other blogs on here, now that it is time to say farewell and all. 😉 I’ve been checking out A Virtual Voyage but have yet to comment. Great blog; it’s very similar to yours. Their community seem to have watched/is watching a lot of dramas (gulp!) so I will wait until I’ve caught up a bit more to join in on the discussion. Cfensi can be a little sardonic at times but I still like the overall tone and content. The Problematic of the Unproblematic is hilarious! I’m following the recaps of Mystic Nine and let me tell you, you must put on your “dirty” thinking caps or else you’ll miss half the jokes. So there you go! Hope to see you on one of these site. And as always, when time permits…

I got to know your blog when looking for what Chinese actresses wore to the New York Met Gala. I was happily surprised to find an English blog on Chinese entertainment, since they were only a handful at that time. You were quite new then, I think, but soon grew to be one of the standouts, thanks for your hard works. So I’ll also take this opportunity to congratulate you on a job well done :). I was a silent reader for a long time before I finally decided to comment (like…a year), and I know there are probably a ton of other readers who have been silently following along as well. Thank you guys for all the hard work put into blogging about c-drama/movie news and gossip, I really appreciate the level of content you guys brought to the internet world. :’) I’m sad to see you guys go, but also very excited for the next big chapter in your lives. I wish you two good luck and success in school as well as what lays beyond in the many many years to come!

Also just some small college tips, I know everyone is always like “go to office hours and talk to your professors” which is a little hard depending on how much you like socializing. But! Even if you’re not particularly a social butterfly, I really really recommend talking to your professors (about anything really, they’re regular humans too behind the professor image) and building a professional relationship (or friendly relationship if that’s your thing) with them so that they can write great letters of recommendation for you in the future. As much as college is about learning and getting a useful degree, networking is so important and having an excellent reference letter will help you tremendously if you plan on going to graduate school, applying for prestigious scholarships/fellowships, or require a letter of reference/recommendation for your future job. Above all though, I really hope that as stressful as classes can sometimes be, enjoy your time in college because after graduating I realized how much easier it is to only have to study (and maybe work a easy part-time job) and how much more time you have to spend with your friends/family/your self and your own hobbies, than when you graduate and you have to live like a working adult; it’s so hard to match up your work schedule, you have to deal with more people than just your peers and your professors, and you can actually mess up now — like in school you fail a test, no problem, study for the next one and put your all into pulling your grade back up, in the work force you might get fired depending on how bad you messed up. So above all, I hope you two enjoy your college years and have as much fun as possible, although I don’t know you guys personally, I truly believe that no matter what you guys are going to do great!

Also, thanks to the other commenters who definitely added “seasoning” to the cent-blog experience! Hopefully we can all see each other in the comment section in the future for Zhao Li Ying news on other blogs!!! xD I’m also keeping my fingers crossed that this blog will be updated in the future one day :’) never going to get rid of my bookmark!

A BIG hug for all these amazing tips. I had been to college for a year already and I now the drill. But it is different this year as, just like you recommended, I want to pass more time talking with teachers and hanging out with friends. Last year was mostly studying and blogging and I want more interactions in the upcomming year! I talk to teachers already, but hopefully I can learn to leave an impact LOL I am not that much of an active person (yet). I will do my best!
Same, I know there are other blogs (like AVV for example) with strong Zhao Liying fanbase, but I am not sure if everyone will choose to go there >< Hopefully, there is a good solution for everything. There are a lot of great advices in what you wrote and as a second year university student, it is definitely true. I think it is hard to talk to teachers and make them see you as a qualified student worthy of their time. I am trying little by little every term and hopefully, I will be able to find a niche very soon. College is a great place to set up my future and I still put a lot of pressure/stress on myself for success. Maybe as you said, I should learn "mistakes" are okay and to enjoy more my experience as it goes.

Thank you for all the positiveness in your posts. I love how you guys are always respectful and never mean about any actors/actresses/commentators’ opinions.

Wish you both all the best with studies and everything!

I haven’t been able to keep up with your blog as of late since I’m already back to Uni, and now reading this post makes me sad, although I do understand your decision completely. Blogging and constantly providing us updates on the C-entertainment industry requires a high level dedication and commitment, especially when you guys don’t only focus on a couple of specific celebrities and their projects, but actually cover almost every single aspect of what’s going on in the Chinese Ent. industry, and sometimes even go as far as covering major events happening in China. Major props to you two for being able to maintain that commitment since the blog’s creation. Unfortunately, life happens, people get busier and moving forward whilst having so many things to deal with is something none of us can escape, and this decision is completely understand as you guys find it impossible to commit to the blog as much anymore. Nevertheless, huge huge HUGE thanks for all the hard work, dedication, commitment you guys have provided for us international fans of the C-ent, sharing us various infos, your lovely opinions, and essentially spreading your love for the C-ent worldwide. Hopefully, I’ll see you two blog again in the near future. Last but not least, good luck and all the very best on your future endeavors and everything going on in your lives! Hope to see you guys around soon!

(And aww, I’m pleasantly surprised that my name was included. I honestly didn’t expect this since I wasn’t as active as a reader in the past month, <3)

    • Yeah, did feel like we saw less of you these days 😉 I am back to school too and it is quite a lot of work >< Good luck to us both and everyone working hard in uni life. *sigh*
*HUGE HUG* Thanks for summarizing our work better than we are. Haha, yeah, it is a lot of work and it took a lot of our precious free time. But it was worth it and I loved every moment. It allowed me to interact with beautiful people like you. I am also scarred and excited for what is to come. You wrote such a beautiful comment and I am really moved. Thanks so much and we will definitely miss you! I will probably come back for the end of the year recap as I already have a few dramas in mind to talk about. 8D
      ( ❤ of course!)

Oh, good luck for you too! University is what you make out of it and despite all the pain, I am slowly getting addictive to the feeling of self learning and continuous involvement. I really love my life right now and hope it is the same for you 🙂
Yes, writing for cdramadevotee required a lot of work, but it is something we really enjoyed doing. If I had more time and can afford it, I would love to keep running the blog. Thank you for stepping in on Cnesdevotee (just posted ur Ent Update, hope you don’t mind!)
Love you very much and thank you for been so nice and supportive!

Thank you! Very happy to hear that you are satisfied with your life right now. Self-learning is such a captivating thing, especially when it involves topics that you really care about. It is something I’ve never stopped doing for the past few years.
You’re welcome! Not all my classes have started yet, so I had more free time this week to step in on Cnewsdevotee. I will be busy very soon, but doing Entertainment Update posts will be the most I can do, by then.
(Thank you for publishing the post! I was actually wondering exactly when it’d get published, haha)
        Likewise, ❤

Oh yes… It is important to find a balance between blogging and studying and if it is hard to do both, I think studying takes the priority. And it is so great you are doing Ent Update because a lot of new bloggers aren’t fluent or very literate in mandarin.
(hehe… I usually post after 2-4 days max, coz the news are fresher this way :P)

    Dear achidisign and ikitten,
While we can’t be certain what waits for us at the end of each journey, when it ends we can only look back and marvel at how wonderful this journey has been, having the privilege of travelling with you. Thank you for inviting us along for the ride and for sharing your love for all things C-entertainment with us. Such indulgence. We have been spoilt by you and you have certainly raised the bar. You have an awesome gift and it is even more awesome that you made many here feel special to be part of your journey. We took so much pleasure and joy in travelling with you. KUDOS to both of you that managed to do what you did for so long when you have so many other things you could be doing. It takes great commitment and dedication and we can feel the love that has been your fuel and strength. You have a big heart of generosity and we continue to cheer you on. No matter what you do in the future I know you will not only succeed but do so in great style and glorious fashion. I pray for God’s special grace to abound in both of you and may you continue to find joy and happiness always.

    • Dear Cloud,
You phrase your words so beautifully I am in awe! *_* Thanks for this beautiful message. Looking back, we have written so MANY posts, including a lot of them that I will refer to myself. We also met wonderful people like you and everyone on this post and it is mind blowing for me that we could have done all that in only 1.5 years. We are so privileged to have you girls! You are complimenting us more than I feel like I deserves. ❤ I never thought of me as a leader or anything, but the fact that we could have done this and created such a beautiful community touches me deeply. I am happy and moved. Thanks for these amazing wishes *_* I hope you also find great success in your future adventures!! 😀
